SPUMC Youth 2019 Mission Trip - Sunday, July 14th, 2019 - Day 1

Hello Everyone,

We have made it and arrived safely in Wilmington, NC. We have gotten settled into the house we are staying in, which is pretty nice and will definitely be good accomodations for the week! We are so thankful to Trinity UMC for providing this space for us! It worked out great! It was also the easiest drive I’ve ever had on a trip! We didn’t even have to stop for the restroom once!

Today after arriving, we spent some time unpacking and getting everyone settled into their rooms for the week. After that, we had a brief orientation going over some rules for the week and kind of previewing our weekly schedule. We were supposed to have an orientation from WARM, but they didn’t show up. So not sure what happened with that. But oh well! We will spend some more time going over safety rules tonight and will get some on the job training in the mornings

After that we enjoyed a Taco Dinner from a restaurant called Islands Fresh Mex Grill! They were delicious. We spent the evening after that doing our quiet time devotion for the night and now are about to spend some time in devotion and prayer as a group, preparing ourselves for the week ahead!

After that, we will have some time to relax and enjoy each others company. Hopefully we can all get to bed pretty early tonight and get a good night's sleep. That way we can be well rested for tomorrow and the rest of the week ahead! Wake up call is at 7 am tomorrow! It’s going to be an Early morning!
